Pub news!
A strange lunchtime today!
Quite early on the pub was inundated with middle 50's/early 60's gentlemen, about 15'ish. Never seen them before, but they drank well and ate all Di's filled rolls!
Then the usual suspects arrived. At about 1.45pm a load of blokes, all dressed in tweed rolled in (literally), all bearing silver tankards. They were in fine spirits and I thought they were a shooting club because of the attire. They seemed a good bunch so I asked them what the occasion was.
"We are THE REAR ADMIRALS CLUB." Somewhat confused, I asked why the name. "Why not?" came the reply. "We're out on a pub crawl in a mini-bus and this years dress code is tweed, this will continue for a while yet."
Well, lads, you will be welcome here anytime, you made my lunchtime!
I hope you remember to read this and send me the link to your facebook account! Happy Christmas!

What fun you have in your pub. One day I'll turn up with my brood and surprise you. You'll recognise it's me because I'll be wearing a pink burqa, made entirely of tweed, and Wellington boots.
Oooooo, I'm first to comment as well. And second.
Dumdad, that attire sounds interesting. Will the brood be gagged?
Never a dull moment in your local!
"THE REAR ADMIRALS CLUB"? Hmmmm, are you thinking what I'm thinking? Were they all "nice boys"?
ChrisB - The only dull moment in the pub is when I walk in!
What a brilliant idea! Themed pub crawl nationally with a minibus. Who would want to drive though...?
Today there was a pubcrawl in a smallish town here named Hawera. To avoid the risk of drunk-driving they all headed off on bicycles, which caused even more mayhem for the police than if bods had been driving! It made the 6.00pm tv news.
Pleased the lads in tweed kept you entertained.
Keith: I had the exact same thought when I read REAR ADMIRAL'S CLUB. I hope they didn't keep you TOO entertained...
Suit you sir?
I guess your rear end was kept safely tucked away?
Bet you're glad I popped by now!
What a hoot! I wonder if they would let a semi-crazy American woman join their escapade?
Karmyn, i'm sure you'd be welcome!
Beccy, ha! kicked you into action!!
Bet beccy's trying out the new laptop!
As a member of the Rear Admirals I'd like to thank you for your kindly comments. Karmyn, although we've not held a Lady's day there's always time. Dumdad when we hold an invitational day you are up there on your dress code alone. The Rear Admirals Assosiation wishes you all a happy and fruitfull new year and remember always "WEAR YOUR SEATBELT"
