Pub news!

Firstly, I'd like to point out the the last posting on MY site was nothing to do with me! It's the grumpy git who comes in for a free Sunday lunch!!

Anyway, now that issue is out of the way, down to the pub news.

Di, our ever-so gorgeous landlady was in the kitchen preparing Keiths' lunch when the ceiling fell in!

One of the lads went on what remained of the roof, brushed the water away and pulled a tarpaulin over the hole.

I got belted because Keith told Di porkies!

This is not acceptable, and I shall deal with this on Tuesday when the old git comes in again!

Bllody hell, Di and the Jez, for a ceiling to go splat there has to be crap awful roofing above it. I write from the experience of theat awfull october 1987 storm down south. The only roof leak was above my bed where i lived, in house shared with the landpesons. Landlords also owned house next door, wos having it reroofed when storm struck. I found woz safest to hide in my wee bed room in the days after - tenants, landpersons, strong arguements. A minorly soggy mattress was easy. Their dog still huggled me - Harry, the daft super lengthed springer spaniel.

So what did Keith order for lunch, toad-in-the-hole?

It sounds like your pub is a fun place to be on Sundays. I really must make the effort to visit you very soon.

I believe that my old gardener, who died last year, used to go regularly to a pub in Dunton Basset for a Sunday lunch. Would it be the Merrie Monk? He lived at Narborough, name of Tom Cope.

Let's hope the roof of the toilet is more secure than the kitchen - especially if you get locked in again!
