Pub news. (The last post)

The day I didn't want to happen has arrived.

THE PUB IS SHUT!

I'm unsure what to do next. I might leave this blog open and create a new blog. What say you?

I'm gutted!

Rob, it's the Hollybush for now, but I don't know about the weekends.

K.B. It's sorted, but there is a shortage of blog fodder!

Dammit dammit dammit! I have clearly not been reading your blog enough, this came as a real surprise.

Sorry to hear about this. If I had unlimited (or nearly so) cash reserves I would have bought the place myself and employed the lot of you to sit there, drink beer, eat snacks and come up with more fodder for your blog.

Right after I bought that Ferrari, of course... ;)

Best wishes John, please don't retire the blog.

Thank-you, R'Puss

OMG! I come back from a couple of weeks sunbathing in the Caribbean, with beautiful girls attending to my every wish, and what do I find? My favourite pub is closed, the temperature is -9°C, and my mate John is in tears an inconsolable!

Ah well, things could be worse I suppose. . . .

Ah, what a shame. I enjoyed popping into the pub thanks to your blog.

Keep the blog going; or, perhaps, start a new one entitled something like The Search for the Perfect Pub, or Pub Crawler (as you seek an alternative).

A sad day indeed!

Gotta keep the blog going John (suggestion: Memories of the Merrie Monk?) in one way or another. You'vegot a steady fan base of folks who are equally as nuts as you, so there must be fodder somewhere!

Keep on blogging!

There is life after the Merrie Monk.

Time Gentlemen Please
What a Sitter (god I wish could spell) that is. They say all good things must come to an end so it must have been good. May good fortune shine on you and your fellow ex-patrons of 'the Monk' in your search for an alternative oasis.

I like dumdad's idea of a searching for a new pub blog. Keep blogging John.

I think the search for a new 'home' has some mileage in it.
I also think that you should keep on writing.
Start a new blog perhaps....

Don't stop blogging, find a new place, find new folks, ask 'em if you can blog about them, tell them they'll be famous, they'll be hanging out with famous people too, like you and Keith :-D

We CAN'T lose you so you'll just have to sort something out. Get Keith to help - it will keep him out of mischief!

Sorry I don't comment much nowadays but I have to add my twopennorth this time.
Yes, it's a tragic day when your favourite pub closes but with your sense of humour you shouldn't find it difficult to come up with something else to blog about. The search for a new watering hole could provide a good subject to start with.
Anyway, I hope it doesn't spoil your Christmas. Lots of love, S
