A new start.

On the 1st of July, the smoking ban comes into effect in Blighty. I enjoy my cigs, but being one of the less mobile sorts I have decided to quit, rather tha struggle outside. So, on July 5th at 3pm, I am going to get hypnotised. One of my mates did this 6 months ago, and hasn't wanted one since, so I am going to the same person.

Wish me luck. £80 for 1 hour, it better bloody work!!

If it does I'm going to learn this hypnotherapy stuff, it sounds profitable!

Loads of luck with it John!!!!
Many many years age I used to smoke 15/20 roll-ups a day. Giving up was the best thing I ever did!
I am now the worst ex-smoker in the world....I HATE people smoking anywhere near me, especially when the kids are with me. I really hope you succeed....just think...no more smelling all stinky and faggy..Yay!
Be strong but don't eat too much instead. K gave up years ago and put on 2 stone! Luckily he was a bit skinny before so now he's just right...apart from his middle-aged spread and the beginnings of Moobs!!!:)

Thanks HC, my mate said he's not had one craving, so fingers crossed!

I kicked the habit just over 7 years ago and only once since have I given in to the temptation. Had a ciggie, went gray and felt violently sick for about 5 hours. I went for hypnosis and after 45 min I came out and had forgotten how to smoke. To test it out went straight to the pub and only thing that bothered me was that it felt like I had forgotten to do something. DOH!

Good luck anyway, you will feel better for stopping!

If that works, please let me know. I would love to quit, but so far have been afraid of failure and being teased for seeing a hypnotist...

But if it works, I'm all over it.

Good luck it does seem to work for a lot of people.

John I couldn't be more pleased. I haven't smoked for 30 years and it took a visit to a health farm to motivate me. I shall be very interested in the hypnotherapy because I thought about it seriously, to overcome my driving neurosis which seems to be OK now.
It really is worth the struggle John, so now you have made your mind up the best of luck with it.
Think of the money you'll save!

Good luck - I hope it works.

However - I have heard that hypnosis only works if YOU REALLY REALLY want it to. (so, if you are on the fence about quitting smoking, it probably won't).

I'll send good vibes your way on July 5th!

Good luck John, if it works I'll have to send joules over. He's given up three times for up to three years and then goes back on them!

Life is very pleasant here with the smoking ban although the pubs can smell a bit farty late at night. Apparently the smoke used to hide the smell.

Probably the same here, Beccy!

Do hope it works. Is there a moneyback guarantee?
My brother-in-law gave up recently by using nicotine patches but my sister has tried several times and can't kick the habit.
I tried hypnotherapy to lose weight a few years ago and it didn't work but maybe the the therapist was crap. At least he didn't charge eighty quid!

Good luck, and if it doesn't work first time, then use a hypnotherapist down here. They charge £45 an hour in Monmouth!
