Home news.

Dad came out of hospital this lunchtime!

The irregular heartbeat was to blame, so he's now on beta blockers.

Thanks Naomi. He's not 100% yet, waiting for the pills to kick in!

I know what thats like. I collapsed with the same thing in 1986 and had to go onto beta-blockers, and I've been on them ever since! The do work, but it takes a while to get used to them.

My quack told me that an irregular heartbeat is not life threatening in itself, but you have to take things easy. Not a problem in my case cos I'm one of natures idle gits!

Give Gordon my good wishes and tell him to cut out those early morning 10 mile runs before breakfast. . .

As I told you - MTL had the same experience 2 or 3 years ago. They are very carefully monitored and he visits the Warfarin clinic regularely according to what his blood test shows. It was very frightening when it happened - we were out to dinner but compared to what we had to deal with later with his cancer - it ws a walk in the park. As long as he follows the medic's instructions and doesn't overdo it or worry too much he'll be fine. He's quite a bit younger than MTL who's 84.
