General news.

First things first, as they say. My cold and cough that has been the bane of my life for the last three weeks has broken, and I can't say how glad I am to see the back of it! Hardly any sleep (constant coughing), no appetite (no taste). Keeping the fluid intake up, fortunately, hasn't been a problem!

Secondly, my mobile phone has decided, that, after 4 years it doesn't want to work anymore! Half-way through a call...silence. The RZR had died!

So, after a visit to Amazon I have bought this! A Samsung F480 Tocco (whatever that means!)

Samsung tocco

One of the locals has one and I was impressed by its' ease of use, touch screen and general clarity. It seems the ideal phone for me, one-handed operation is a real bonus too!

Contact your local teenager to show you how to use it!

Momcat - John already has! He's enrolled at the "University of Certain Things" for the next three years to learn how to use it.

So glad you are over that beastly virus. It's very brave of you to get one of those bright new things. I dread the day my ancient Nokia gives up the ghost. It does nothing but act as a phone which is as much as I can cope with. When the batteries aren't flat that is. And MTL is worse - just stares at it as if it's an alien spirit.

Just upgraded here from a Nokia 1100 to a Nokia 1208.

That's right - no camera (I already have one), no internet (I have broadband on my PC), no MP3 player (I have a tiny Olympus digital recorder/player for that), and no games (not interested anyway).

It's just a simple small lightweight voice communications device, which is all I need.

Having said that, I just looked up the specs on that Samsung, and they're very impressive. I'm sure that once you get used to it you'll find it the perfect (one handed operation) all-in-one device. And I'd guess Keith's already jealous!
