Merriement at the "Monk"

The following video, shot today at the pub, is here by special request of #Debi who asked to see a video of John getting a smack from Di, the landlady, for being cheeky.

Actually if you look closely you will see that the smack is a bit pathetic, it looks more like a friendly pat on the cheek, and she could have hit him harder in my opinion. He deserved it today.

I must apologize for the quality of the video. Last night I was recording in low light conditions and I forget to change the settings. It was sunny today and the picture is a bit over exposed. I only bought this camera last week and I haven’t got round to reading the instruction manual yet!

The second video shows the free bar food loving prepared for the patrons by Di, our lovely landlady. The quality of the food is excellent and is only surpassed by the beauty and generous nature of Di. Everybody who uses the pub greatly appreciates the ‘Sunday Nibbles’; well, nearly everybody, there is one person in a wheelchair who never eats any!

Again I’m sorry about the quality of the video, I will try to do better next time.

I took the following pictures early before the pub filled up and the food vanished.

Nice one Keith, but the sound's crap!

I think the volume was turned down. Just as well, after all the foullanguage flying around!

I know, Di's terrible for that!

It's like going on a field trip! Enjoyed it. (Didn't like seeing you get smacked, though!)

I'm suddenly a bit thirsty, and hungry...

Kila, it's the norm!

after seeing the video, I wish we had a pub to go to! It seems so cozy and inviting! Food, friends and beer!

I think your local is great-but can't think why don't you eat anything John-it looks good. I don't call that a slap it didn't even show a red mark LOL

Great to see the Merrie Monk at last - although it's made me homesick! And hungry: those snacks look good and they're FREE. Incredible.

I've sent a link to your opening sequence to the RSPCJ - help is at hand John.

Rog - Would that be "Rough Smacks, Punches and Cruelty to John" by any chance?

Thanks, Keith! :) The Monk looks like a lovely place, but it seemed there were no women there (except for Di, of course). Are they not allowed?

Arrrgh - just as well there isn't scento+vision, cos the sausage rolls look so scrummy, thanks Keith.

John.G - sitting out there exposed like that in the middle just brings you easily into Di's whacking range. Try eating food one Sunday lunch time - a novel experience? maybe, but a good one, from Mickle the foodie.

Try the C-food diet - I see food, I eat it.

#Debi - Oh yes, women are allowed in, but only under strict supervision of course.

Di is the landlady, so we let her in, providing she behaves. . .

You are both spoilt rotten.
When are we going to see Keith get a slap? I'm sure he's been asking for it for ages.

Yeah!!! Now I can totally visualize everything when you write about the pub. That was great to see it all for real.

Awww, I am sure John g. didn't do anything to deserve a smack, go on Keith, admit he didn't do anything wrong.

Keith said...

Pi - I won't get a slap, I've taken the precaution of 'feathering my nest'. My motto is "Be Nice to Di".

So Di happy-slapped a cripple and Keith posted it on the intertubes? You can get locked up for that.

Mr. Farty, the lawsuit is in the post!

For some strange reason, I cannot get either the Video or the Pictures...There is an empty space with a pretty little box in the upper left corner...Grrrrrr.
Any suggestions?

For the videos you need Adobe Flash Player plug-in installed. Quicktime, Java, and RealMedia plugins are also usefull. All these must be set to install updates automatically, as indeed ALL components of your computer should be set to automatically update, including the operating system!

However you don't say what web browser you're using.

Here I use Firefox 3, which is annoyingly secure within itself - and with my additional 'add-on's' (including No-Script, Add-Block, and Cookie-Safe) which security-wise then makes it even tighter than a duck's whatsit. For this and similar sites I have to relax the security in stages (temp or perm) in order to reveal the content of the site.

But hey, it's worth it. The last trojan infection I had was with using MS IE6 when I only had a standard antivirus prog installed (no not Norton, which is well known to be inferior!). I had to clean the entire computer with the now resident 'Spyware Doctor'. Also I now regularly scan with Lavasoft 'Ad-Aware' for a second opinion.

It's not easy running a computer!!!

Poor John! He must chirp Di something chronic tho & probably deserves the occasional slap! Run over her toes next time John!!
