National disgrace!

police

Today has been a bit strange. We have the police protesting about their, quite frankly disgraceful treatment by this corrupt excuse for a government of ours who have reneged over their signed and sealed pay deal,(which the Scottish force got at our expense), and we have the bizarre scenario of the police policing the police.

To me, this is a completely ridiculous state of affairs.

His excellency Gordon (the giver) Brown, has just signed a deal with India to give them £825 million!

Hello!! Am I missing something here?

I am with you John. 54 Billion to prop up a bank, the war in Iraq which costs 100.000's a day. MP's pay and pensions to go up again. The world must laugh at us so much. Labour sucks.

Don't get me started John~ but I agree. Gordon Brown is a Scotsman I believe!

It puzzles me too. India does not consider itself a poor country, although many of its residents are. I remember (because I was in India at the time) that at the time of the tsunami the Indian government refused money from the disaster fund, as they said they could afford to look after themselves - though they did have fundraising appeals of their own.

The police thing was the subject of a radio phone in today and some guy rang in saying....
'I was a miner during the strike under Margaret Thatcher and I'm attending the the march today to assist with crowd control'
Sad but also quite funny I thought ;-}

You're getting quite good at this HTML thingy. I like the layout of your post.

This police thingy doesn't affect us in 'Earl Shilton' cos we haven'nt got any, never had, and I suppose never will! So if they gone on strike we wont even notice!

My local TV reported that a vast number of the Police from this area were on the demo... now I just wondered if burglars were listening what might happen?

I heard a Yorkshire wife of a policeman on Jeremy Vine's programme - really letting rip and annihilating whoever was speaking against the demo. Refreshing to hear a bit of real passion for a change.

The poverty one sees in the cities in India leave unforgettable images. But will the money go to help them?
