Pub news!

There is something wrong with the majority of the locals in the Merrie Monk. Sunday lunchtime is when Di our beloved landlady brings out the free grub food on the bar. The chilli sauce supplied by GG was bought out again. The locals seem to like the chipolata sausages that always appear. They dip them in the sauce. This sauce is frighteningly hot and we caught a few more unsuspecting victims today. Not much left in the jar now! Still, it gives us a laugh!

Remind me to steer clear of anyone's chipolata when I'm in the pub!

You lot out there in Bloggyland don't know what you are missing at the "Merrie Monk". I can quite honestly say that it is the best pub I have ever known in my long and boring life! The people who use it are so friendly (not too sure about John though!), they make you feel wanted and treat you as if they had known you all their lives.

There is always so much fun and banter and everybody seems so happy. The landlord, Jez, and Di, his wife, make you so welcome.

As John says, on Sunday lunchtime the bar is groaning under weight of all the free food and nibbles. You never leave hungry on Sundays!

This is how a typical English pub should be, and you would have to go a long way to find one half as good. Although I live 9 miles away I look on it as my "local".

If any of you ever get the chance to visit us on a Sunday lunchtime I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

And if that doesn't get me a free pint I wont take my cute little puppy to show Di!

*LOL* Keith!

Nice ad and one that makes me want to run to the train station and make my way there and have a holiday in Merrie Monk. You most definetly have earned your free pint ;)

Does the Eurostar stop anywhere near The Merrie Monk?

I hope so after what Keith has just said. I'll be over every Sunday if Her Royal Frogness lets me (she won't).

So, it's frogs' legs and snails for Sunday lunch for me, comme d'habitude...(but I smear them with Marmite when she's not looking).

dumdad - MARMITE! Sacre bleu! You should use buerre d'ail! Have you no respect for the snails?

MARMITE with pepper sauce sounds good though.
