Ministers may allow 'lunatics' to become MPs

Elizabethan laws define idiots as "incapable of gaining reason" and lunatics as capable of only periods of lucidity. What, in Parliament has changed?

Used to be lunatics could only serve in the House of Lords. Apart from that, plus ├ža change...

The officially diagnosed ones can't do worse than the amateurs running the country now. I look forward to the next election with renewed interest.
