I don't know the songs, but I can finish the lines.

A long time ago came a man on a track "and was run down by the train".
You saw me standing by the wall, corner of a main street "and you shot me!".
How many special people change, how many lives are living strange "lifes like John G".
While the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand "it will be a long walk to the sea".
I got to have a shot of what you got is oh so sweet "and sour chicken".
I been laid off from work, my rent is due, my kids all need brand new shoes "and the mother-in-law is coming to live with us".
Mother doesn't know where love has gone", and neither does Dad".
I sit and wait "for you to buy the next round".
It's been seven hours and fifteen days "since you bought the last round".
Wont you come see about me "that £50 you owe me?"

Geeez - I suck.

I only know 3

2 - Duran Duran
9 - Sinead O'Conner
10 - Simple minds.

But, alas, I don't know the titles of the songs. I could sing them for you if you like.

Buggery. I only got the Simple Minds one and that was a guess.

Bonus question #2 (nobody bothered with #1, it was in the comments of the last one of these posts of yours and it was Aqualung by Jethro Tull in case anyone cares).

"All our times have come..."

Either I'm too young or too old or just plain stupid but I only know Sinead O'Connor, after reading mum's comment I also see Robbie but I didn't get it on my first go.

Obviously nobody cares about my co-opting John's comments box for bonus questions of my own devising. So I'll stop.

It was "Don't Fear The Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult, btw.
