Fun Monday

First attempt, bear with me.

I tried, I tried, I really did
But all the words, they went and hid
My mind is a ripple
Not too bad for a middle aged cripple
Don't feel sorry, don't feel bad
After all I still have my Dad
The one thing that is so sad is.........
I've got to buy Keith a pint and a cob tomorrow!

john I thought the 4th line was going to be something ending in 'Tipple' wonder why that came into my mind!! Did you get Nikki to add you to the list?

john.g. said...

No, Chris, I found it from you!

I was only joking about the cob; but not the pint!

If that's your first attempt at poetry, all I can say is "Pfft!" and don't give up your day job.

Welcome to Fun Monday John.

As I'm not a Northern lass what's a cob? Is it bread or am I way off?

I like that the worst thing going on in your life is that you have to cough up for a pint! You make me smile with your perspective!!! Big hugs.

john.g. said...

Beccy, spot on, a bread roll.

DQ, I have to...cough up for a damn pint for that old git! xx

Wendz, thanks, but Would I be so rude?

Well one can be grateful you ignored nipples!
Please tell Beccy you don't live in the north.

WooHoo... A poet and you didnt know it!

I've never really understood where the 'up north' dividing line sits??

But then again.... I am geographically challenged.

john.g. said...

Hi, S, I'd say the line is north of Birmingham.

This is fun! So where do you get your Fun Monday assignments?

Here's one I wrote for my almost-husband quite a while back, tweaked a bit for anonymity:

There once was a man name of Gelt,
Who complained, "My physique, it ain't svelte."
His missus demurred
"Your concern is absurd
You know it's your tongue makes me melt."

john.g. said...

LMAO! You should fit in nicely!

PI said...

Where? In the north? I was born and bred in Rossendale Lancashire.

john.g. said...

Pat, Altrincham.

Beccy said...
