This tickled me.

I read a letter in the D.T. today regarding misspelt names. This was from a Mr. Heron. He made a phone call to give some information, and said his surname was "Heron, as in bird". The letter to him was addressed to Mr. HERON AZINBURD !

If any of you have experienced similar, why not share them here?

When I was in hospital I got some get-well cards from mates addressed to Mr. Ashtree, Mr. Deadwood, and Mr. Unlucky bastard ! You've got to laugh!

Well I do work with a Mr Kandyba who regularly gets mail to Mr Candybar.

My favourite is the Lady Mondegreen.

And don't call me Shirley!

I like Lady Mondegreen also having seen its provenance. We had a Mrs D'eath when I had customers and I often forgot how to pronounce it - to her annoyance. One of my friends had a pub and she and her husband used to jokingly talk about Bow Jolliss which wasn't so funny when they were being inspected and it slipped out.

I like the "Mr Deadwood", that just about sums up your argument with that tree.

By the way, did you ever replace that tree you so callously destroyed with your car?

I once had a phone call from an insurance company which went like this:
"Gooday, are the occupier of number XX of Thingy Street, Earl Shilton?"
Me, warily:"Yes"
It:"Oh, good, I have an important offer for you, can I have your name please?"
I told him to go away and put the phone down. Two days later I got a quote from them addressed to "Mr Pissov". True! I've still got it.

Sorry about the two entries, but my sodding computer did it when I wasn't looking and wasn't ready.
